The Master Distiller Roberto Castagner invented the method of toasting the marc in the microwave before distilling it. This innovative process produces an ingredient of grand aromatic value. The subsequent phases in the alembic produce grappa with impressive sensorial notes, great balance and complexity.
Refining in small barrels for between 1 and 10 years is a real challenge with time, in the knowledge that waiting for quality determines the grappa’s character.
A decisive role is played in this phase by the choice of precious cherry wood and oak, which confer elegance to the grappa and enhance its aromatic profile.
The Roberto Castagner collection of Torba grappa is addressed to the more discerning consumer, for whom grappa is not just a distillate but a ritual that has to be savoured slowly.
TorbaRossa grappa has amazing aromatic depth, thanks to a special recipe of Merlot and Cabernet marc from the Piave area. Its distinctive bouquet is given by the innovative smoking of the marc, a modern adaptation of an ancient method used to conserve food. The grappa rests for more than a year in cherry and oak wood barrels, where its flavour gains softness and roundness and gradually perfect harmony and balance. From this blend of cultivars from the plain and the hills, smoke and wood, tradition and research, a grappa is born that fascinates us and leads us to a new world of sensorial tones. TorbaRossa is a meditation grappa: to be tasted slowly in a large glass to be able to perceive its multi-faceted aromas.
